- Do you need to create a brand new lesson repository? The new process is outlined with an example - please try it out and send us your comments.
- Damien Irving created a capstone example specifically for oceanographers.
- A biomedical engineering MATLAB capstone was made available by Isa Kiko.
Technical Challenges
- Git on Mac OS X 10.8: Instructors can find or propose solutions to the "Lazy symbol" error when installing git on old Macs (Mac OS X 10.8)
Details
- The 6th post-workshop instructor debriefing was summarised by Tiffany Timbers. It includes a list of great ideas such as using two instructors to demo version control (with one or two projectors) and walking participants through help documentation as opposed to just referring them there.
- Minghui Zhou and Audris Mockus published their research on the drivers that cause open source contributers to stay involved in open source projects.
- Three workshop were run last week: two at the University of Miami and one at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.
- Several workshops have been confirmed for the next few months. Upcoming workshops can be viewed on our website. Newly added workshops are indicated with "*".
